Ahhh ... a wonderful night out with friends. I went to see the John Butler Trio and GLove n Special Sauce at the Pine Mountain Amphitheatre in Flagstaff. The music was wonderful, the weather was perfect, the company was nothing less than brilliant.

Funny thing, GLove has meaning to me because 14 years ago, a very dear friend of mine, Drew, and I hiked the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim. We drove down from Denver and listened to G-Love nearly the entire way there and back.

Now, a new friend of mine and I are planning another hike in the Grand Canyon. We will hike down from the North Rim to Thunder River with the intention of exploring the caves that spawn what is believed to be the steepest river on earth. Who knows. But anyway, tonight, my friend Matias called to verify our plans just as I was leaving to go meet my other friends for the concert. Who would have thought, that of all bands, G-Love n Special Sauce apparently means a connection to the Grand Canyon for me? ... the last trip was awesome, must mean that this one will be, too.

So, tonight I am looking forward to an epic trip and a wonderful time with my Argentine friend Matias.

Thanks G-Love :)

Here I am, blogging. I thought I wouldn't succumb to what seemed to me just a strange phenomenon, typing out sentences that chronicle your thoughts and experiences and then putting them out there in cyberspace for any and all to read ... but never say never, eh?

Now, rather than sending postcards to friends and loved ones when travelling, people add to their blog. Instead of keeping a journal in your room that no one else reads, type out your musings on your blog. Rather than spend countless money and lots of hours making copies of photos to mail to friends, just post them from your digital camera onto the internet. Cool.

I've never been that good at keeping up with people through cards and letters, anyway. Even though I've always meant to keep in touch better with the people that I care about, I don't really seem to do it all that well. Hopefully this will help, sort of an ongoing form letter to friends and family, huh? Only better, I can even post my favorite songs and share video if I feel like it.

Life is strange and ever changing, hence "Allez! N'abandonnez jamais" - Go! Never give up (oop, there I said "never"... more than once even, heehe). Things change, get used to it, embrace it, then smile and keep going.

So, here we go ...
